Scheduling Optimization of Prefabricated Construction Projects by Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Prefabricated buildings are the direction of the future development of the construction industry and have received widespread attention. The effective execution of prefabricated construction project scheduling should consider resource constraints and the

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Scheduling with Contingent Resources and Tasks

open access: yesProceedings of the International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling, 2013
Finding optimal schedules for the most commonly considered classes of scheduling problems is NP-complete. Best algorithms scale up to very large scheduling problems when optimality is not required and good solution quality suffices. These problems have perfect information in the sense that the resource availability, set of tasks, task ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Two-Stage Genetic-Based Optimization for Resource Provisioning and Scheduling of Multiple Workflows on the Cloud Under Resource Constraints

open access: yesMathematics
Resource provisioning and scheduling are essential challenges in handling multiple workflow requests within cloud environments, particularly given the constraints imposed by limited resource availability. Although workflow scheduling has been extensively

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Scheduling with Many Shared Resources

open access: yes2023 IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium (IPDPS), 2023
Consider the many shared resource scheduling problem where jobs have to be scheduled on identical parallel machines with the goal of minimizing the makespan. However, each job needs exactly one additional shared resource in order to be executed and hence prevents the execution of jobs that need the same resource while being processed. Previously a $(2m/
