Sphinganine‐phosphate prevents influenza infection via promoting CD8+ T cells proliferation and activation

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
This study established clinical cohorts of respiratory viral infections and identified sphinganine‐phosphate (SA) as a metabolite significantly upregulated post‐infection through metabolomic analysis. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that SA promotes the generation of effector CD8+ T cells via the SOCS1/JAK1/STAT1 pathway, which ...

Cellular Mechanism and Key Insights in Allergen Immunotherapy for Allergic Rhinitis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Allergic rhinitis (AR) arises from immune responses mediated by immunoglobulin E (IgE) to inhaled allergens, representing one of the most prevalent chronic conditions worldwide. Although AR may not be a serious ailment, it holds clinical relevance as it underpins numerous complications, serves as a major risk factor for suboptimal asthma ...

Performance of Dust Respirators Against A Fibrous Dust

American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1970
A reproducible, easily dispersed, resipirable-size fibrous dust was prepared by micropulverizing and air-jet milling a Canadian chrysotile asbestos from the Johns-Manville Jeffrey mine. Three Bureau of Mines approved and five nonapproved respirators were evaluated against this dust, using standard Bureau of Mines techniques. With one exception, all had

Performance of Respirable Dust Samplers with Fibrous Dust

American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1971
Polydisperse fiberglass particles were dispersed in air by means of a Wright dust feeder in order to calibrate several commonly used two-stage air samplers. The particle size-weight distributions of the airborne fiberglass dust and the dust collected in the samplers were determined by sedimentation analysis in water using a micro-balance.
