Characteristics of exhaled particle production in healthy volunteers: possible implications for infectious disease transmission [v1; ref status: indexed, http://f1000r.es/xa]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2013
The size and concentration of exhaled particles may influence respiratory infection transmission risk. We assessed variation in exhaled particle production between individuals, factors associated with high production and stability over time.

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. Respiratory virus infections

open access: yesPaediatric Respiratory Reviews, 2007
The respiratory tract is a frequent site of infection with a wide range of viruses. Each family of viruses can cause differing clinical syndromes depending on the age of the patient and the immune response. As a corollary, different clinical syndromes can be caused by different families of viruses.

Evaluation of Digital Technologies for Home‐Based Assessment in People With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Digital technologies hold promise for transforming healthcare by enhancing personalized treatments and offer valuable opportunities to improve patient care. Here, we evaluated several novel, self‐administered, home‐based, digital endpoints for their association with corresponding conventional standard clinical measures (primary) in ...
