Response surface methodology (RSM) as a tool for optimization in analytical chemistry

Talanta, 2008
A review about the application of response surface methodology (RSM) in the optimization of analytical methods is presented. The theoretical principles of RSM and steps for its application are described to introduce readers to this multivariate statistical technique.

Optimization of biopolymerization rate by response surface methodology (RSM)

open access: yesEnzyme and Microbial Technology, 2005
Abstract Response surface methodology was successfully applied to enzymatic biopolymerization of catechol, which was conducted in a closed system containing acetone and sodium-acetate buffer, with laccase enzyme to produce poly(catechol). Laccase enzyme used as catalyst was derived from Trametes versicolor (ATCC 200801).

Response surface methodology (RSM) analysis of photoinduced decoloration of toludine blue

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2008
In this study, the decoloration of toludine blue (TB) in the presence of UV radiation and heterogeneous hybrid catalyst, namely titanium oxide impregnated with vanadium oxide was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM). The optimum removal conditions were determined as 26.5 mg/20 mL V2O5/TiO2 catalyst concentration at pH 7.7.

Response Surface Methodology (RSM) in Fabrication of Nanostructured Silicon

Materials Science Forum, 2016
In this paper, a respond surface methodology (RSM) model has been developed using three levels Box-Benkhen experimental design (BBD) technique to study the influence of several metal-assisted chemical etching (MACE) process variables on the properties of nanostructured silicon (Si) wafer. Five process variables are examined i.e.

Modeling and Optimization of Electrospun Polyvinylacetate (PVAc) Nanofibers by Response Surface Methodology (RSM)

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2011
Response surface methodology (RSM), a collection of statistical and mathematical techniques, has been widely used to optimize and design operating conditions. Although this method is suitable for optimizing experimental conditions, very few attempts have been made on the electrospinning process.

Optimization of warpage on plastic part by using response surface methodology (RSM)

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2018
Process of injection moulding usually used in the manufacture of plastic parts for the production of varieties. The most serious manufacturing challenges are to reduce the cost of producing the product without affecting the quality of the final product. This paper describes the use of the Box–Behnken experimental design on optimisation method to reduce

Minimising warpage on side arm using response surface methodology (RSM)

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
The injection moulding process has been widely used in industry to produce plastic parts of a variety of geometries and shapes. However, the difficulty in adjusting optimum process parameter setting will lead some defect on injected moulded part such as warpage.

OPTIMIZATION OF A CHOCOLATE PEANUT SPREAD USING RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY (RSM)

Journal of Sensory Studies, 2004
ABSTRACTResponse surface methodology was used to optimize formulations of chocolate peanut spread. Thirty‐six formulations with varying levels of peanut (25‐90%), chocolate (5‐70%) and sugar (5‐55%) were processed using a three‐component constrained simplex lattice design.
