Repeat drug-coated balloon angioplasty for femoropopliteal lesions: 12-month results from a retrospective observational study

open access: yesCVIR Endovascular
Background The clinical implications of restenosis after drug-coated balloon (DCB) treatment remain unclear. We compared the clinical outcomes between DCB angioplasty for restenosis and de novo femoropopliteal artery lesions.

Redox‐Responsive Mitochondrial Delivery from Functionalized Vascular Stent Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 3, March 2026.
A redox‐responsive stent surface is engineered to deliver functional mitochondria in response to oxidative stress. Upon exposure to reactive oxygen species, grafted mitochondria are released, internalized by vascular cells, and restore mitochondrial function under stress.

Safety, Efficacy and Clinical Outcome of Direct Stent Implantation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Kerman University of Medical Sciences, 2004
Conventional methods of stenting require predilatation, which potentially increase vessel wall injury and cost of the procedure. In this study, the safety and efficacy of direct AVE-S7 (Medtronic-USA) stent placement were evaluated in 100 patients ...

Bench Testing Analysis of Perforation Management in the Setting of Bifurcation Coronary Intervention

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 107, Issue 4, Page 888-897, March 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Management of coronary perforation in bifurcation lesions with covered stents remains challenging. Aims We aimed to describe a proper practice and toolbox for “jailed‐branch” management after covered stent deployment. Methods Using a bench model, we tested various wires with a 120° angulated microcatheter for their ability to ...

Endovascular Stenting for Pulmonary Vein Stenosis Following Atrial Fibrillation Ablation: From Diagnosis to Intervention

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 107, Issue 4, Page 925-933, March 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS) is an uncommon but serious complication of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation, often misinterpreted as primary pulmonary disease. Timely identification is essential to prevent irreversible injury and to guide appropriate referral for interventional management. Case Presentations Through the discussion of

Cabbage Exosome-Like Nanoparticles Encapsulating Small Noncoding tsRNA Prevent Postinjury Arterial Restenosis

open access: yesResearch
Postinjury restenosis is a common complication of peripheral arterial disease treated via endovascular techniques. Its pathogenesis mainly involves neointimal hyperplasia and persistent inflammation.

Treatment of Coronary Perforation in a Bifurcation: Two‐Stent Strategies With Fenestrated Covered Stents

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 107, Issue 4, Page 1080-1087, March 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Coronary perforations are a dreaded complication for any interventional cardiologist. The treatment of this complication is exceptionally difficult when it occurs in a coronary bifurcation. While a conservative approach or a balloon occlusion might be sufficient in some cases, additional treatment is sometimes necessary.

Identification of Hemodynamically Optimal Coronary Stent Designs Based on Vessel Caliber [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Coronary stent design influences local patterns of wall shear stress (WSS) that are associated with neointimal growth, restenosis, and the endothelialization of stent struts.

Management of Acquired Nasopharyngeal Stenosis in Pediatric Patients: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Acquired nasopharyngeal stenosis is a rare condition in pediatric patients. This report describes the case of a 10‐year‐old girl who developed nasopharyngeal stenosis following cleft palate surgery, presenting with bilateral nasal obstruction, chronic mouth breathing, and snoring.

Stent-induced hypersensitivity leading to refractory in-stent restenosis: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports
Background Even in the era of new-generation drug-eluting stents, in-stent restenosis remains a common and challenging problem of percutaneous coronary intervention.
