Predicting Breath Hold Task Compliance From Head Motion

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 63, Issue 1, Page 183-192, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cerebrovascular reactivity reflects changes in cerebral blood flow in response to an acute stimulus and is reflective of the brain's ability to match blood flow to demand. Functional MRI with a breath‐hold task can be used to elicit this vasoactive response, but data validity hinges on subject compliance.

Block‐interleaved segmented echo‐planar imaging for improved activity detection in submillimeter high‐resolution functional MRI at 7 T

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 86-100, January 2026.
Abstract Purpose Isotropic submillimeter high‐resolution functional MRI (fMRI) facilitates noninvasive investigation of neuronal activities at the mesoscale level, including cortical columns and laminae. However, the task‐evoked functional activity becomes less detectable when using single‐shot echo planar imaging (EPI) with parallel imaging techniques
