A Synergistic Examination of Excitatory‐Inhibitory Balance in First‐Episode Schizophrenia Merging 7‐Tesla Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Imaging and Magnetoencephalography

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2025.
A merged analysis of 7T MRSI and MEG recordings revealed an association between smaller GABA/Glutamate ratios and the evoked early auditory gamma‐band response (EAGBR), a potential marker of cortical hyperexcitability, in first‐episode schizophrenia. This relationship, and associated clinical outcomes, appear to be driven by GABA levels.

Trajectories of Cognitive Complaints in Patients With Breast Cancer and Their Association With Psychosocial and Neurobiological Factors

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 15, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cancer‐related cognitive impairment (CRCI) is common among patients with breast cancer, with significant variability in both severity and duration of cognitive complaints. This study aimed to elucidate this variability by identifying distinct trajectories of cognitive complaints over time in patients with breast cancer ...

Data‐Driven Approach to Dynamic Resting State Functional Connectivity in Post‐Traumatic Stress Disorder: An ENIGMA‐PGC PTSD Study

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 11, 01 August 2025.
In a large global sample of people with trauma exposure, we utilized a data‐driven approach to evaluate resting state brain network dynamics. Neither static nor dynamic functional connectivity dynamic analyses showed robust differential patterns of graph dynamics between those with posttraumatic stress disorder and those without.

Precision Network Modeling of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Across Individuals Suggests Therapeutic Targets and Potential for Improvement

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 11, 01 August 2025.
Standard clinical TMS positioning targets different networks across individuals. Precision TMS tailors coil position to target specific functional networks in each individual. The precision TMS approach is feasible and reliable within individuals, including those with depression.

Decreases in Hormone Levels Modulate Neurovascular Coupling but Not Reduced Insular Functional Connectivity in Menstrual‐Related Migraine

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 11, 01 August 2025.
ABSTRACT Menstrual‐related migraine (MRM) is a neurovascular disorder associated with decreased sex hormone levels. The menstrual cycle influences both cerebrovascular function and functional brain connectivity, with accumulating evidence linking migraine to altered connectivity, particularly in the insula.
