The Restinga is one of the ecosystems of the Atlantic Rainforest biome in Brazil. It is characterized by extremely nutrient-poor soils formed in sandy coastal sediments from the Quaternary age. The highly dynamic environment of sandy coasts causes landforms with different microrelief.
