In this paper, a restoring force model, composed of a trilinear skeleton curve and hysteretic rules, is proposed based on nine pseudostatic tests of the energy-dissipation joint under horizontal low cyclic loading.

Launch Bar Dynamics Character Analysis of Carrier-Based Aircraft Catapult Launch
The launch bar is a unique device of carrier-based aircraft, which is connected to the nose gear and shuttle. In order to avoid the launch bar striking the flight deck after the launch bar pops out of the shuttle, it is very important to research the ...

Influence of Variable Acceleration on Parametric Roll Motion of a Container Ship [PDF]
Ship operators increase or decrease thrust force of ships to avoid parametric roll motion. These operations cause varying acceleration values. In this study, influence of variable acceleration and deceleration of ships on roll motion is investigated in ...

Genomic data assimilation using a higher moment filtering technique for restoration of gene regulatory networks [PDF]
As a result of recent advances in biotechnology, many findings related to intracellular systems have been published, e.g., transcription factor (TF) information. Although we can reproduce biological systems by incorporating such findings and describing their dynamics as mathematical equations, simulation results can be inconsistent with data from ...

Perturbed Motions of a Rotating Symmetric Gyrostat
The aim of the present paper is to provide analytical solutions for the perturbed problem of the behaviour of a symmetric gyrostat about a fixed point. This gyrostat is acted upon by a gyrostatic momentum $l_s (s = 1, 2, 3)$, variable restoring moment $k$

Numerical Analysis of Mechanical Behavior of Self-Centering Joint between CFDST Column and RC Beam
The existing connection between the concrete-filled double steel tubular (CFDST) column and the reinforced concrete (RC) beam is difficult to repair and reuse after damage. In this paper, a self-centering joint between the CFDST column and the RC beam is

Reclaiming 'The Land', Restoring 'The Garden'? Georgian Georgic in the Modernist Moment and Beyond
To scrutinize georgic’s position between progress and tradition, this article will focus on the way those forces become legible in poems composed between the end of the First and Second World Wars. I will examine Vita Sackville-West’s long georgics The Land (1926) and The Garden (1946) to argue that they indicate the scope of what is possible in the ...

Modeling and analysis of the nonlinear rotatory motion of an electromagnetic gyrostat
This paper investigates the three-dimensional rotary motion of a charged rigid body (gyrostat) about a fixed point close to the case of Lagrange. We mainly consider the motion under the influence of some forces and moments, on the gyrostat, such as a ...
