Sparse Signal Recovery via Rescaled Matching Pursuit

open access: yesAxioms
We propose the Rescaled Matching Pursuit (RMP) algorithm to recover sparse signals in high-dimensional Euclidean spaces. The RMP algorithm has less computational complexity than other greedy-type algorithms, such as Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP).

Asynchrony Related to Mechanical Ventilation Exacerbates Diaphragm Dysfunction in a Mouse Model of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims In dystrophic mice (mdx, a genetic homolog of Duchenne muscular dystrophy: DMD), previous studies showed that mechanical ventilation (MV) induces ventilator‐induced diaphragmatic dysfunction (VIDD). However, susceptibility to mechanical stress caused by asynchrony remains unknown.

Performance of Glass Fiber Composites With Plastic‐Waste Pyrolysis Char as Filler

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Valorisation of mixed plastic waste into carbonaceous char via pyrolysis, its integration as a microfiller in epoxy/E‐glass (GFRP) laminates, and characterisation to assess composite performance as a function of filler loading. ABSTRACT Plastic pyrolysis offers circular solutions for mixed plastic waste but leaves a carbonaceous char that is often ...

Pruning-Based Sparse Recovery for Electrocardiogram Reconstruction from Compressed Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Due to the necessity of the low-power implementation of newly-developed electrocardiogram (ECG) sensors, exact ECG data reconstruction from the compressed measurements has received much attention in recent years.

Rehabilitation and return to activity after platelet‐rich plasma injections in chronic tendinopathies: Consensus from international experts

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The effectiveness of platelet‐rich plasma (PRP) injections in chronic tendinopathies remains debated. Although the product's characteristics play a role, the impact of postinjection recommendations remains poorly investigated. Objective To establish principles and guidelines for post‐PRP injection rehabilitation and return to ...

An Online Dictionary Learning-Based Compressive Data Gathering Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2016
To adapt to sense signals of enormous diversities and dynamics, and to decrease the reconstruction errors caused by ambient noise, a novel online dictionary learning method-based compressive data gathering (ODL-CDG) algorithm is proposed.

Bath Vibration During Open Eye Formation in a Physical Model of a Steelmaking Ladle

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Using a physical model, this study shows that vibration measurements reliably predict open eye size in steelmaking ladles, offering a practical alternative to visual monitoring. Vessel vibrations stabilize faster than the open eye, except at high frequencies near the bottom.

Nonlinear analysis of flat post‐tensioned concrete slab–edge column connections

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract This study presents nonlinear finite element analyses to investigate the punching shear behavior of unbonded post‐tensioned concrete flat slabs at slab‐edge column connections. A parametric analysis was conducted to evaluate the influence of four critical parameters on the punching shear resistance: the distribution of prestressing tendons ...

On log-concave-tailed chaoses and the restricted isometry property

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis
In this paper, we obtain a $p$-th moment bound for the suprema of a log-concave-tailed nonhomogeneous chaos process, which is optimal in some special cases. A crucial ingredient of the proof is a novel decoupling inequality, which may be of independent interest.

Enhancing generalized spectral clustering with embedding Laplacian graph regularization

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract An enhanced generalised spectral clustering framework that addresses the limitations of existing methods by incorporating the Laplacian graph and group effect into a regularisation term is presented. By doing so, the framework significantly enhances discrimination power and proves highly effective in handling noisy data.
