The Random Restriction Technique [PDF]

open access: possible, 2002
Oracle construction is a major tool for studying questions about complexity classes. Suppose we find an oracle relative to which a complexity-theoretic property Q holds and another oracle relative to which Q does not hold. Then we can conclude that settling the question of whether Q holds without assumption is very tough, in the sense that proof ...

A revisit of adaptive random testing by restriction

Proceedings of the 28th Annual International Computer Software and Applications Conference, 2004. COMPSAC 2004., 2004
Adaptive random testing is a black box testing method based on the intuition that random testing failure-finding efficiency can be improved upon, in certain situations, by ensuring a more widespread and evenly distributed spread of test cases in the input domain.

RESTRICTED RANDOM TESTING: ADAPTIVE RANDOM TESTING BY EXCLUSION

International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering, 2006
Restricted Random Testing (RRT) is a new method of testing software that improves upon traditional Random Testing (RT) techniques. Research has indicated that failure patterns (portions of an input domain which, when executed, cause the program to fail or reveal an error) can influence the effectiveness of testing strategies.

Restricted Randomization in Randomized Controlled Trials-Reply

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1995
In Reply. —We thank Drs ter Riet and Kessels for attempting to explain the similar sample sizes we found in treatment and control groups. Unfortunately, their suggestion of widespread use of a form of restricted randomization does not shed any new light on our findings. In our original article, we stated, "The strong tendency for the comparison groups

Restricted Random Testing

2002
This paper presents a novel adaptation of traditional random testing, called Restricted Random Testing (RRT). RRT offers a significant improvement over random testing, as measured by the F-measure. This paper describes the ideology behind RRT and explains its algorithm.
