Two Constructive Results in Continued Fractions

SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1983
Two famous classical results on continued fractions are highlighted: the Van Vleck-Jensen theorem and the Parabola theorem. Although there are more general theorems to derive them, only in case of the classical ones are explicit error bounds known. The paper is very elegantly written and the authors give ''en passant'' an extension of an improvement ...

Typology of Resultative Constructions

1988
This volume, originally published in Russian, combines data from a wide range of languages, meticulously analyzed, with a sophisticated theoretical apparatus capable of isolating the most important syntactic and semantic parameters and of drawing those generalizations that are most significant from a cross-linguistic perspective.

Random constructions and density results

Designs, Codes and Cryptography, 2007
In this study authors outline a construction method which has been used for minimal blocking sets in \(PG(2, q)\) and maximal partial line spreads in \(PG(n, q)\) and which must have a lot of more applications. They also give a survey on what is known about the spectrum of sizes of maximal partial line spreads in \(PG(n, q)\). At the end they list some

A Resultative Adverbial Approach to Korean Resultative Constructions

The Journal of Human Studies, 2020
This paper presents a resultative adverbial approach to Korean resultative constructions (i.e., the [AP-key] constructions) against the null subject analysis in which secondary resultative predicate is a small clause containing PRO. On the basis of the observation that they are morpho-syntactically and semantically distinguished from English ...

Towards a history of English resultative constructions: the case of adjectival resultative constructions

English Language and Linguistics, 2008
This contribution provides a corpus-based investigation of the history of adjectivalresultative constructions(RCs), e.g.He wiped the table clean, with special reference to Old English and Middle English. The article first briefly discusses some of the parameters relevant to a synchronic analysis of RCs, namely causativity, causality and force-dynamics,

Formal Results of Constructive Logicism

2022
We prove in the metalanguage, by induction on natural numbers n, that derivations can be given in free Core Logic of all instances of Schema N (#xΦ‎x = n ⊣⊢ ∇nxΦ‎x). We also prove all of the Dedekind‒Peano postulates for successor arithmetic, including the Principle of Mathematical Induction.
