Resuspension-Induced Ion Flux

Analytical Biochemistry, 1998
Pelleting and resuspension of Fura 2-labeled c6 glioma cells leads to a large Ca flux characterized by a high initial internal level of Ca which rapidly declines to close to basal levels. The effect has been termed resuspension-induced ion flux (RIIF).

Kaolinite Resuspension Properties

Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1979
Limited experiments on the initiation of motion of sand grains in the annular channel-ring system showed a reasonable agreement with Shields. curve for incipient motion. The resuspension rates of stratified beds continuously decrease, and may even become zero, as the depth of erosion increases.

Shear-induced resuspension in a couette device

International Journal of Multiphase Flow, 1993
Abstract The viscous resuspension of an initially settled bed of particles resulting from the application of a laminar shear flow was studied experimentally in a narrow-gap Couette device. The measured height of the resuspended layer was found to be in excellent agreement with that predicted theoretically using a model developed by Leighton & Acrivos,

A new resuspension medium for pyocyanine production

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1969
A medium for the production of the phenazine pigment pyocyanine by Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been developed. The medium was deficient in phosphate and contained ammonium chloride, inorganic salts, and 2-ketogluconate as sole carbon source. Rapid initiation of pigment formation was observed with synthesis being completed at 24 h.

An aerosol generator for the resuspension of cotton dust

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1984
An aerosol generator, the Pitt 3 model, was designed, fabricated, and characterized for the resuspension of inhalable particles from bulk cotton dust. The generator was constructed around a loudspeaker whose energy is transferred into an air column through latex rubber dams.

Lateral Canthal Resuspension Sine Canthotomy

Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2011
The purpose of this study is to describe a novel canthopexy technique-the lateral canthal resuspension sine canthotomy (LCR-SC)-performed via an upper-eyelid incision and to compare it with the lateral tarsal strip procedure (LTS).This is a retrospective study in which the pre- and postoperative photographs of 20 patients per group who had LCR-SC, LCR ...

DIEL VARIATION OF RESUSPENSION AND EFFECT OF RESUSPENSION ON PHOSPHATE RELEASE RATE FROM THE SEDIMENT

Advances in Fluid Modeling and Turbulence Measurements, 2002
Continuous field observations of water temperature, conductivity, turbidity and flow velocity were performed at a central point of Lake Shinji, a shallow lagoon in Japan, in summer for a month. Observational results revealed that turbidity in the overlying water showed a distinct diel variation, independent on the existence of the stratification.

Resuspension Consequence Assessment of the WIPP Release

Health Physics
On 14 February 2014, there was a release of radiological material at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico due to improper waste packaging. The resulting chemical reaction released 241 Am as airborne contamination in the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant underground repository.
