Abstract Aims Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) continues to be an increasingly common health problem associated with a high mortality rate. Elevated levels of Growth differentiation factor‐15 (GDF15) and N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) are reportedly associated with poor clinical outcomes in a broad range of ...

Right ventricular systolic function and cardiac resynchronization therapy [PDF]
AIMS: The effect of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) on right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF) has not been well studied. Furthermore, it is unclear whether baseline RVEF influences response to CRT. To evaluate the acute and chronic effects of

Clinical and prognostic implications of phenomapping in patients with heart failure receiving cardiac resynchronization therapy [PDF]
Despite having an indication for cardiac resynchronization therapy according to current guidelines, patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction who receive cardiac resynchronization therapy do not consistently derive benefit from it.; To ...

: Our objective was to improve ovulatory response at the initiation of the Resynch-25 protocol by (1) increasing the dose of GnRH from 100 µg to 200 µg; and (2) giving a second GnRH treatment 56 h after the initiation of the protocol.

Techniques for Identification of Left Ventricular Asynchrony for Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy in Heart Failure [PDF]
The most recent treatment option of medically refractory heart failure includes cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) by biventricular pacing in selected patients in NYHA functional class III or IV heart failure. The widely used marker to indicate left

His-Optimized Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy to Maximize Electrical Resynchronization [PDF]
Background: Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is an established therapy for patients with cardiomyopathy, left bundle branch block, and heart failure. His bundle pacing (HBP) may also improve clinical outcomes by narrowing QRS duration. The QRS narrowing by HBP may not always be optimal.

Implementation of guideline‐recommended medical therapy for patients with heart failure in Europe
Abstract Physicians' adherence to guideline‐recommended heart failure (HF) treatment remains suboptimal, especially regarding the target doses. In particular, there is evidence that non‐cardiologists are less compliant with HF guideline recommendations. This is likely to have a detrimental impact on patients' survival, readmissions and quality of life.
