Conductive Hydrogels for Exogenous Sensing and Cell Fate Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We engineer electrically conductive hydrogels by combining sulfated glycosaminoglycans with semiconducting polymers. These hydrogels bind bioactive proteins, including growth factors, whose release or retention can be modulated by low‐voltage stimulation. The hydrogels are also integrated as 3D channels in organic electrochemical transistors as part of

Retained Catheter in the Aorta

open access: yesClinical Practice and Cases in Emergency Medicine, 2019
Due to the recent increase in endovascular procedures, retained foreign bodies such as stents and catheters in vasculature have become a common and serious complication. Treatments for these complications vary depending on the acuity and stability of the

Management of endophthalmitis with retained intraocular foreign body [PDF]

open access: yesEye, 2004
Aims To assess the impact of primary injection of intravitreal antibiotics and delayed pars plana vitrectomy with removal of intraocular foreign body (IOFB) in patients with clinical features of bacterial endophthalmitis and retained IOFB. Methods Retrospective review of all patients with clinical features of infective endophthalmitis and a retained ...

A Dual‐Bioresponsive and Programmable Microneedle Matrix as a Bioinspired Coupler for Orchestrating Diabetic Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This project developed a smart bandage‐like patch (a microneedle array) for repairing diabetic bone damage. It intelligently senses signals from infection and inflammation, then releases its medicines in a specific, timed sequence: first an antibacterial agent, then an anti‐inflammatory agent, and finally growth factors.

Nocturnal Intraocular Pressure Monitoring With a Soft Contact Lens Sensor for Glaucoma Management

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soft contact lens sensor enables continuous, noninvasive monitoring of nocturnal intraocular pressure (IOP) under closed‐eye sleep conditions. By integrating a highly compliant inductive–capacitive circuit onto a commercial lens, the device achieves record sensitivity and stable performance.

An Injectable Electroactive Hydrogel Engineered for Stable Bioelectronic Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Injectable electroconductive hydrogels enable soft, conformal, and stable bioelectronic interfaces for electroceutical therapies. A catechol‐modified hyaluronic acid/alginate/edge‐functionalized graphene platform combines wet adhesion, shear‐thinning injectability, tissue‐matched mechanics, and electrochemical functionality.

Unusual case of a graphite foreign body in the anterior chamber

open access: yesClinics and Practice, 2011
Retained intraocular graphite foreign bodies are uncommon. Although they are generally inert, they have been reported to cause severe inflammatory reaction and progressive damage to intraocular structures.
