Substrate specificity of Burkholderia pseudomallei multidrug transporters is influenced by the hydrophilic patch in the substrate‐binding pocket

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...

Intron retention is a source of neoepitopes in cancer

open access: yesNature Biotechnology, 2018
We present an in silico approach to identifying neoepitopes derived from intron retention events in tumor transcriptomes. Using mass spectrometry immunopeptidome analysis, we show that retained intron neoepitopes are processed and presented on MHC I on ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
