Acoustofluidic Patterning for Improved Microtissue Histology

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Microtissue histology is widely used to characterize microtissue phenotype and morphology. However, conventional microtissue histology workflows are inefficient and time‐consuming. This work introduces a novel embedding technique that uses acoustofluidics to improve the efficiency of microtissue histology and reduce the time required for data analysis.

Selective Promotion of Retinal Organoid Attachment and Differentiation by Amine‐ and Hydroxyl‐Modified Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Engineered biomaterial interfaces critically control retinal organoid development. This study examines how surface modifications (amine, hydroxyl, phenyl, and methyl groups) dictate organoid response. Hydrophilic surfaces markedly increase migration and foster retinal ganglion cell differentiation.

Unlocking fruit dimensions: Quantification of functional traits driving plant–frugivore interactions

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Fleshy fruits attract animals to ingest fruit, swallow the seeds, and release them in the landscape, thus facilitating seed dispersal and plant regeneration. Attraction of animal dispersers is achieved via attractants such as color or scent, and rewards like sugars, lipids, and micronutrients.

Bioimaging of sense organs and the central nervous system in extant fishes and reptiles in situ: A review

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Bioimaging of the sense organs and brain of fishes and reptiles. Left panel: 3D reconstruction of the head and brain of the deep‐sea viperfish Chauliodus sloani following diceCT. Right panel: A 3D reconstruction of a 70‐day‐old embryo head of the bearded dragon Pogona vitticeps following diceCT, showing the position of the segmented brain within the ...
