RETINAL NEOVASCULARIZATION ASSOCIATED WITH A RETINAL ARTERIAL MACROANEURYSM

RETINAL Cases & Brief Reports, 2009
This case report describes an uncommon presence of a retinal arterial macroaneurysm complicated by retinal neovascularization. This is a case history of a 49-year-old woman presenting with preretinal, intraretinal, and subretinal hemorrhage with an adjacent retinal arterial macroaneurysm complicated by the development of retinal neovascularization. The ...

Retinal artery occlusion

Survey of Ophthalmology, 1995
A 54-year-old man presented with an acute painless loss of vision. He had a three-month history of malaise, weight loss, and episodic sweating. Retinal artery occlusion during carotid artery stenting with distal embolic protection device

open access: yesNeuroradiology Journal, 2018
Retinal artery occlusion associated with carotid artery stenosis is well known. Although it can also occur at the time of carotid artery stenting, retinal artery occlusion via the collateral circulation of the external carotid artery is rare.

A Pre-Retinal Arterial Loop Causing a Branch Retinal Artery Occlusion

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2014
Pre-retinal arterial loops are usually incidental findings during examinations in healthy individuals. They are rarely associated with arterial occlusion, with only nine previously reported cases in the literature. The authors report a case of a pre-retinal arterial loop associated with a branch retinal artery occlusion in a myopic young man. They also

Central retinal artery occlusion

Journal of the American College of Emergency Physicians, 1979
Central retinal artery occlusion is characterized by sudden, painless visual loss due to blockage of retinal blood flow. It has been reported in all age groups including children but is most frequent in the sixth decade. Both thrombosis and embolism have been suggested as possible mechanisms.

THE VITREOUS IN RETINAL ARTERIAL OCCLUSIONS

Retina, 1994
To investigate whether retinal arterial occlusion induces posterior vitreous detachment (PVD).Vitreous condition was studied retrospectively and examined on biomicroscopy in 52 eyes with retinal arterial occlusion; 50 fellow eyes served as controls.Of 52 eyes with retinal arterial occlusion 27 (52%) had PVD; 25 (50%) of the 50 control eyes had PVD ...

Isolated Retinal Arterial Aneurysms

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1976
We observed three patients with isolated retinal arterial aneurysms and obtained a clinicopathologic correlation in one of them. All three were hypertensive and in the sixth or seventh decade of life. Fatty exudates were present around the aneurysms, taking the form of large circinate rings in two cases.

Ranibizumab for retinal arterial macroaneurysms

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 2010
Dear Editor, We read with great interest the case report entitled “Intravitreal ranibizumab in retinal macroaneurysm” by Wenkstern et al. [1] regarding the effects of intravitreal ranibizumab (Lucentis®; Genentech, Inc, South San Francisco, CA, USA) as monotherapy for retinal arterial macroaneurysms (RAM).
