Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the effectiveness and safety of multiple PDT sessions for cases of persistent and recurrent subretinal fluid (SRF) in chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC). Methods This multicentre, retrospective cohort study included patients aged ≥18 years with chronic CSC who received at least two sessions of PDT at ...

Increased risk of autism in extremely preterm children with a history of retinopathy of prematurity
Abstract Aim To investigate the association between retinopathy of prematurity and autism spectrum disorder in extremely preterm children. Methods Data in children born extremely preterm at <28 weeks’ gestational age in the Region Västra Götaland, 2013–2017, were analysed for association between retinopathy of prematurity and neurodevelopmental ...

Differential G protein activation by the long and short isoforms of the dopamine D2 receptor
Background and Purpose The dopamine D2 receptor is expressed as a short (D2S) and a long (D2L) isoform with 29 additional amino acids in the third intracellular loop. The D2S isoform shows higher presynaptic expression than the D2L isoform, and decreased D2S expression has recently been linked to an increased risk for schizophrenia.

Abstract G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) are one of the major drug targets. In recent years, computational drug design for GPCRs has mainly focused on static structures obtained through X‐ray crystallography, cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) or in silico modelling as a starting point for virtual screening campaigns. However, GPCRs are highly

Background and Purpose Plasmalemma vesicle‐associated protein (PLVAP) regulates transcytosis in vascular endothelial cells. PLVAP expression is increased in pathological conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy. P2X7 receptor antagonists have been shown to preserve blood‐retinal barrier (BRB) integrity.
