Cellular retinol binding protein and breast carcinoma
European Journal of Cancer and Clinical Oncology, 1990Cellular retinol binding protein (C-RBP) levels were measured in 87 malignant and 18 non-malignant breast cancer tissues. C-RBP, sedimenting in the '2S' region on 5-20% sucrose density gradients, was detectable in 70% of malignant tissues examined. None of the non-malignant tissues contained detectable C-RBP.

[Prealbumin and retinol-binding protein].
Pathologie-biologie, 1986Thyroxin binding prealbumin (TBPA) and retinol binding protein (RBP) are associated in a complex responsible for the transport of vitamin A and of about 10% of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4. Both are synthetized in the liver. RBP can be characterized by two essential points: its hepatic secretion depending on the nutritional vitamin A status explains ...

CELL-SURFACE RECEPTORS FOR RETINOL-BINDING PROTEIN
Nutrition Reviews, 2009Target tissues for retinol have receptors to which retinol and retinol-binding protein complex (retinol-RBP) binds specifically. Following this binding, either the whole retinol-RBP is internalized into the cells of some tissues or only the retinol enters the cells in other tissues, with liberation of apo-RBP.

Retinol-binding proteins (RBP) are secreted by the porcine uterus under the influence of progesterone and consist of multiple charge forms. Evidence has been previously presented by this laboratory that these uterine RBP are distinct from serum RBP. We have followed the secretion of the uterine RBP during two stages of pseudopregnancy, examined their ...
