Differential retraction of axonal arbor terminals mediated by microtubule and kinesin motor
Neurons can extend branches from a single axon to send signals to multiple target cells. Axonal arbor morphology must be changed to establish and alternate neuronal wiring properly. For this purpose, the elongation and retraction rate of each terminal in

A Force-Visualized Silicone Retractor Attachable to Surgical Suction Pipes
This paper presents a force-visually-observable silicone retractor, which is an extension of a previously developed system that had the same functions of retracting, suction, and force sensing.

Coordination of contexts and taste disagreements
In this paper, I will defend that there is an asymmetry between straightforwardly factual and non-straightforwardly factual disagreements (Field 2009) in terms of persistency and retraction, and that we can use what I will call coordination of contexts ...

A Network Analysis of Retracted Citations by Iranian Computer Scientists [PDF]
Retracted publications continue to influence scholarship long after withdrawal. This study assembles a curated set of 169 Iran-affiliated retractions in computer science, data science, and electrical engineering from 2008 to 2024, links them to citing ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

V-notch to Prevent Sliding of Crimpable Hook
En-mass retraction of anterior teeth most commonly involves the use of crimpable hooks which often dislodge when retracting force is applied. A V-notch distal to the hook may prevent such sliding when sandblasting and dental adhesives are not ...
