A Review of Outcomes and Technique for the Robotic‐Assisted Laparoscopic Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection for Testicular Cancer

open access: yesAdvances in Urology, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
Objectives. The robotic‐assisted laparoscopic retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (R‐RPLND) represents a new frontier in the surgical management of testicular cancer in the realm of minimally invasive urologic oncology. We aimed to review the early outcomes as compared to the laparoscopic and open approaches as well as describe the operative ...

B Cell Lymphoma, Unclassifiable, Transformed from Follicular Lymphoma: A Rare Presentation with Review of the Literature

open access: yesCase Reports in Hematology, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
B cell lymphoma, unclassifiable, with features of diffuse large B cell lymphoma and classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma (BCLu‐DLBCL/CHL) is more commonly known as gray zone lymphoma. These cases more often present with mediastinal disease. In this report, we present a very rare case of BCLu‐DLBCL/CHL without mediastinal involvement, transformed from ...

Minimizing variability: Standardized approach to retroperitoneal single‐port robot‐assisted ureteral reconstruction

open access: yesUroPrecision, Volume 2, Issue 3, Page 82-93, September 2024.
Abstract Evidence suggests that robot‐assisted ureteroplasty is a safe and feasible management option of ureteral strictures. The retroperitoneal approach to ureteral reconstruction using single‐port (SP) robot can be beneficial in challenging cases of patients with prior history of abdominopelvic surgery or radiation. Herein, we present a standardized

Levopositioned caudal vena cava and circumcaval left ureter with subsequent hydronephrosis and hydroureter in a dog

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 10, Issue 5, September 2024.
Reporting a rare congenital abnormality: levopositioned caudal vena cava with resultant circumcaval left ureter, hydronephrosis and hydroureter in a 19‐month‐old Bernese Mountain Dog. The case was investigated with computed tomography and managed with surgical transection, transposition and anastomosis to reposition the circumcaval ureter.

Improvements and challenges in intraperitoneal laparoscopic para‐aortic lymphadenectomy: The novel “tent‐pitching” antegrade approach and vascular anatomical variations in the para‐aortic region

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 103, Issue 9, Page 1753-1763, September 2024.
The study shows that the “tent‐pitching” antegrade intraperitoneal laparoscopic para‐aortic lymphadenectomy provides better surgical exposure and reduces operation difficulty. The vascular and anatomic variation of the abdominal aorta region are also introduced in this study which should be carefully identified during operation.

Trisomy 13 with retroiliac ureter diagnosed by assessment for recurrent febrile urinary tract infections

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, Volume 7, Issue 2, Page 161-164, March 2024.
Introduction Patients with trisomy 13 have multiple malformations, including urological anomalies, and severe cognitive and psychomotor disabilities. We conducted a ureteroureterostomy for a mid‐ureteral stricture due to a retroiliac ureter in a patient with trisomy 13.

Laparoscopic ureteroureterostomy for retrocaval ureter - Case Report

open access: yesUrology Research and Practice, 2019
Retrocaval ureter is a rare congenital anomally with an approximate incidence of one in 1,000 live births. This anomally results from the atrophy failure of the posterior cardinal vein during development of the infarenal vena cava and leads to upper ...

A Rare Case of Right Retrocaval Ureter with Duplication of Infrarenal IVC

open access: yesCase Reports in Radiology, 2014
Retrocaval ureter, also known as circumcaval ureter, is a rare congenital anomaly which commonly presents with loin pain in middle age group. Here, ureter passes between the inferior vena cava (IVC) and psoas muscle and gets compressed.
