Sealing Ability of Obturation with Different Sealers Applied Over Apically Separated Rotary File – Retrograde Bacterial Leakage Study

open access: goldJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences, 2022
Background and Aims . Retrieval of separated rotary file may not be possible many times. Then sealing of coronal root canal system depends on sealing ability of root canal sealers. The type of seal to be obtained should be bacterial-tight seal.

Root‐end resection with or without retrograde obturation after orthograde filling with two techniques: A micro‐CT study [PDF]

open access: hybridAustralian Endodontic Journal, 2022
AbstractTo evaluate the filling ability of two orthograde obturation techniques followed by the apical resection with or without retrograde obturation through micro‐computed tomography (CT). Thirty‐two single‐rooted permanent teeth were prepared and randomised into four groups (n = 8) according to the orthograde obturation technique (single cone ...

Endoscopic variceal obturation and retrograde transvenous obliteration for acute gastric cardiofundal variceal bleeding [PDF]

open access: green, 2022
Abstract Background/Aims: We compared the efficacy of endoscopic variceal obturation (EVO) and retrograde transvenous obliteration (RTO) in acute cardiofundal variceal bleeding. Methods: Patients with acute cardiofundal variceal bleeding treated with EVO or RTO at two academic hospitals were included. Results: Ninety patients treated with EVO and

A systematic review of in vivo retrograde obturation materials [PDF]

open access: closedInternational Endodontic Journal, 2003
AbstractPurpose  The aim of this study was to answer the question: For patients requiring apicoectomy (apicectomy/root‐end resection) and retrograde (root‐end) obturation (filling), which retrograde obturation (root‐end filling) material(s) is/are the most effective, as determined by reduction in periapical radiolucency and elimination of signs and ...

Retrograde Treatment With Bioceramic Sealers: A Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT A 53‐year‐old female presented with severe percussion pain and radiographic periapical lucency associated with a maxillary canine supporting a prosthodontic bridge. Clinical tests and CBCT revealed pulp necrosis and an S‐shaped canal curvature with a periapical lesion.

Biological Matrix-Assisted Apexification: A Case Report Using PRF and MTA in Immature Necrotic Teeth. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Dent
It is challenging to treat an infected nonvital young permanent tooth endodontically because there is a lack of natural apical constriction. In order for the obturating material to be condensed, an apical barrier must be induced. Calcium hydroxide has historically been used to induce apexification.

[Use of thermoplasticized gutta-percha in retrograde obturation].

open access: closedRevista de la Asociacion Odontologica Argentina, 1992
In 29 teeth, apicoectomies with retrograde instrumentation and retrofilling with low temperature thermoplasticized gutta-percha were performed. Nineteen of them were clinically an radiographically evaluated, showing the following average rate: successes 84.2% (16 cases), failures 10.5% (2 cases) and incomplete healing 5.2% (1 case).

Endodontic Surgery Management of a Large Periradicular Actinomycosis Lesion. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Dent
A 22‐year‐old female patient consulted the Odontology Department of the Mohammed V Military Hospital in Rabat, Morocco, for a recurrent abscess in relation to the left maxillary central incisor (#21). The dental history of the tooth began with necrosis following trauma a few years before.
