Retromuscular Sutured Incisional Hernia Repair

Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous Techniques, 2007
To compare the early and intermediate results of the open and laparoscopic tension-free repair of incisional hernia, 24 patients were randomized prospectively to undergo laparoscopic or open repair of incisional hernia with retromuscular placement of the prosthesis using transabdominal sutures for mesh fixation.

Incisional Hernia Repair: Open Retromuscular Approaches.

The Surgical clinics of North America, 2018
In this article, we discuss concepts, surgical techniques and published literature about the most common abdominal wall reconstructive techniques performed with retromuscular mesh placement through an open approach.

[Retromuscular mesh repair for ventral incision hernia in Germany].

Der Chirurg; Zeitschrift fur alle Gebiete der operativen Medizen, 2003
Since the onset of an incisional hernia is caused by the biological problem of forming stable scar tissue, the mesh techniques are now the methods of choice for incisional hernia repair. Polypropylene is the material most widely used for open mesh repair.

The endoscopic retromuscular repair of ventral hernia: the eTEP technique and early results

Hernia, 2019
The aim of this article is to describe the technique and early follow-up results of abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR) by minimally invasive surgery (MIS); it concerns the already described endoscopic (retromuscular) Rives procedure (e-Rives) and posterior component separation with transversus abdominis release (TAR) by endoscopic approach (eTEP-TAR ...

[Retromuscular prosthetic repair: experience from France].

Der Chirurg; Zeitschrift fur alle Gebiete der operativen Medizen, 2003
Large incisional hernias cannot be cured without prosthetic material. A large pore size prosthetic tissue seems to be the best alternative, since connective invasion of the mesh provides a very strong fixation of the prosthesis. In our view, the mesh should be placed in the rectus sheath, in a position we have described as "retromuscular prefascial ...

[Roboticassisted incisional hernia surgery-Retromuscular techniques].

Chirurgie (Heidelberg, Germany)
The trend to minimally invasive surgery has also made its way into the surgical treatment of incisional hernias. Unlike other areas of visceral surgery, recent years have seen a resurgence of open sublay repair in incisional hernia procedures, primarily due to the recognition of the retromuscular layer as the optimal mesh placement site.

[Reconstruction of incisional median hernia with retromuscular mesh and hernial sac].

Magyar sebeszet, 2007
one of the most frequent complications of a laparotomy is the development of an incisional hernia. Proper surgical technique can somewhat reduce the incidence, but it still remains a common sequel. Application of prolene mesh for the reconstruction of the abdominal wall with tension-free methods has excellent results.between 2001-2005, 50 abdominal ...
