RETROPERITONEAL TUMORS SIMULATING GENITAL TRACT NEOPLASMS

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1946
Summary The subject of retroperitoneal and mesenteric tumors has been discussed. Both have common derivation in the extracoelomic mesenchyme. Lacking a satisfactory grouping encompassing all these tumors, a suggested classification is proposed. Tivelve cases front our records (an incidence of 1:1,093) are tabulated.

Castleman disease mimicking an aggressive retroperitoneal neoplasm

Abdominal Radiology, 1994
A case of Castleman disease of the retroperitoneum in a 26-year-old woman is presented. Sonography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a large retroperitoneal mass with somewhat heterogeneous imaging characteristics. Although a definitive preoperative diagnosis was not possible, magnetic resonance imaging was useful in ...

Adrenal Myelolipoma Simulating a Retroperitoneal Malignant Neoplasm

Journal of Urology, 1981
We describe a case of a large myelolipoma (15 by 12 cm. maximum diameter) that was removed surgically and resembled clinically and semeiologically a malignant retroperitoneal tumor. The patient also had chronic pancreatitis and cholelithiasis. Experimental findings, as well as the frequent association of myelolipomas (usually small) with several ...

[Nonorganic retroperitoneal neoplasms of the pelvis].

Khirurgiia, 1989

[Computed tomography of retroperitoneal neoplasms].

Zhonghua zhong liu za zhi [Chinese journal of oncology], 1993
CT findings of retroperitoneal neoplasma in 50 cases (51 tumors) were reviewed. There were 28 (55%) malignant tumors and 23 (45%) benign ones. MFH and liposarcoma were the most common malignant tumors and neural origin tumors were the most common benign ones. Differentiation is difficult on the basis of CT features alone.
