Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Retrospective Studies

2014
Large retrospective, epidemiological studies accumulated in the late 1980s, providing increasing evidence to the deeply rooted thought that perinatal events could persistently affect the individual's functioning and health/disease patterns throughout the lifetime.

Retrospective clinical studies

Journal of Pediatric Urology, 2016
Patient-based retrospective studies are most often based on one unique patient cohort from one particular institution. At best, they can give rise to observations leading to future prospective studies and new hypotheses. The study by Pamela Ellsworth et al.

PILOMATRICOMA: A RETROSPECTIVE STUDY

International Journal of Dermatology, 1992
AbstractA study of 53 Pakistani patients with pilomatricoma diagnosed at AFIP during 1985–1989 is presented. It constituted 37.2% of all benign adnexal tumors, during the same period. 56.2% of patients were more than 30 years of age. Differences in site, sex, and age distribution from Western reports were observed.

MATCHING IN RETROSPECTIVE STUDIES

American Journal of Epidemiology, 1971
Retrospective studies have always taken for granted that matching should be done on factors which affect the incidence of the disease. Worcester stated that when that "when a disease group is being compared with another group matching is usually done on variables known to be related to the disease rather than on variables related to the outcome ...

Propranolol rebound—A retrospective study

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1978
To assess the effects of sudden withdrawal of propranolol on inpatients with coronary artery disease, 102 patients admitted for cardiac catheterization were evaluated. Criteria for inclusion in the study were angiographically documented coronary artery disease, propranolol therapy at a mean daily dose of at least 80 mg and abrupt discontinuation of ...

Some aspects of retrospective studies

Journal of Chronic Diseases, 1960
The "retrospective" or "case-control" study provides a more economical way of estimating the relative risk of disease than the prospective method because it does not require the devotion of considerable study resources to those who did not develop the disease. In such a study one identifies all or a well-defined sample of the new cases of a disease as
