Return-Mapping and Consistent Tangent Modulus Tensor

2014
Constitutive equations of irreversible deformation, e.g. elastoplastic, viscoelastic and viscoplastic deformations are described in rate forms in which the stress rate and the strain rate are related to each other through the tangent modulus. Therefore, numerical calculations are executed in their incremental forms by the input of load (stress ...

A return mapping algorithm for plane stress elastoplasticity

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1986
AbstractAn unconditionally stable algorithm for plane stress elastoplasticity is developed, based upon the notion of elastic predictor‐return mapping (plastic corrector). Enforcement of the consistency condition is shown to reduce to the solution of a simple nonlinear equation. Consistent elastoplastic tangent moduli are obtained by exact linearization

Modeling stress-strain curves with neural networks: a scalable alternative to the return mapping algorithm

Computational materials science, 2020
Modeling stress-strain curves in mechanics of material needs deriving suitable constitutive equations and solving those equations using some Euler-like scheme in th more general setting of a return mapping algorithm.

Awake Mapping With Transopercular Approach in Right Insular–Centered Low-Grade Gliomas Improves Neurological Outcomes and Return to Work

Neurosurgery, 2022
BACKGROUND: Asleep vs awake surgery for right insula–centered low-grade glioma (LGG) is still debated. OBJECTIVE: To compare neurological outcomes and return to work after resection for right insular/paralimbic LGG performed without vs with awake mapping.

The return map: Tracking product teams

Journal of Product Innovation Management, 1991
With a new product, time is now more valuable than money. The costs of conceiving and designing a product are less important to its ultimate success than timeliness to market. One of the most important ways to speed up product development is through interfunctional teamwork. The "Return Map," developed at Hewlett-Packard, provides a way for people from
