Cracking the Valence Code: Patterned Facial Kinematics and Neural Signatures of Emotional Expressions in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An AI‐powered system decodes emotional valence from mouse facial expressions, identifying ear dynamics as key indicators. By integrating facial kinematics with synchronized neural recordings, this approach establishes a direct link between behavior and brain activity, advancing automated emotion recognition in animal models.

The private and social return to schooling in Italy [PDF]

open access: yes
We estimate the private (individual) and social return to schooling in Italy and four macro regions. Our estimates take into account the effects of schooling on employment and wages as well as the key features of the Italian tax and social insurance ...

Parasubthalamic Glutamatergic Neurons Coordinate Cardiovascular Homeostasis and Locomotion in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PSTNVglut2 neurons function as a new central baroreflex hub via projections to the NTS, modulating parasympathetic cardiac output to maintain cardiovascular homeostasis while synchronously regulating locomotion. Blood pressure fluctuations negatively correlate with locomotor performance.

Fundamental Value and Market Value [PDF]

open access: yes
Much of James Tobin's professional life has been devoted to studying the interrelationship between the goods and financial markets. His general equilibrium approaches stresses the interaction of the demand for financial assets with the decision to ...

Human iPSC‐Derived Mononuclear Phagocytes Improve Cognition and Neural Health across Multiple Mouse Models of Aging and Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Short‐term intravenous treatments with iPSC‐derived mononuclear phagocytes (iMPs) improve cognitive decline and neural health in two mouse models of aging and in the 5xFAD mouse model of Alzheimer's disease. iMPs reduce levels of serum amyloid proteins that increase in aging and improve the health of hippocampal microglia and mossy cells.
