The Money Multiplier and Asset Returns

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2017
In this paper I study the relationship between aggregate money balances and subsequent stock and bond returns. I find that levels of broad money multipliers (the ratios of broad money to narrow money) forecast future returns with a negative sign, while changes in these multipliers forecast returns with a positive sign.

Cat‐Vibrissa‐Inspired Biomass Fiber Aerogels for Flexible and Highly Sensitive Sensors in Monitoring Human Sport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by cat vibrissae, biomimetic biomass PHFs/SA aerogels (BFAs) are developed via precursor‐assisted in situ polymerization and freeze‐synergistic assembly. These ultralight, porous pressure sensors exhibit high sensitivity and excellent durability, enabling pulse detection, handwriting recognition, Morse code transmission, and notably real‐time ...

The Role of Return on Assets on the Effect of Value Added Capital Employed towards Business Growth

open access: yesProceedings of the 5th Annual International Conference on Accounting Research (AICAR 2018), 2019
Previous studies show the testing of return on asset and other variables using the same measurement period, have not given significant empirical result. Therefore, this research takes a crack at the using different measurement period of return on assets.

Geometrically Templated, Ultra‐Lightweight and High Strength Soap Films from Lyotropic Liquid Crystalline Graphene Oxide/Polymer Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellular materials form spontaneously by dip coating the primitive triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) wireframe in an aqueous solution of lyotropic liquid crystalline graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets mixed with polymers. Regulated by surface tension, GO nanosheets align on the polymer soap film as the stress builds up during drying.

Conditional Heteroskedasticity in Crypto-Asset Returns [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2017
This paper examines the time series properties of cryptocurrency assets, such as Bitcoin, using established econometric inference techniques, namely models of the GARCH family. The contribution of this study is twofold. I explore the time series properties of cryptocurrencies, a new type of financial asset on which there appears to be little or no ...

Locking Metastable Topological Domains in Nematic Liquid Crystal Pi Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Selective photopolymerization in the presence of a controlled voltage defines permanent director walls that lock‐in metastable bend and twist configurations within nematic liquid crystal Pi cells. Q‐tensor simulations corroborate the experiments, demonstrating the topological state stabilization.

Photoluminescent UV Light Modulation via Anisometric Carbon Nanodots for UV–Visible Shutter and UV Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anisometric carbon nanodots are synthesized directly from a liquid crystal precursor and embedded into polymer network liquid crystals to create soft, multifunctional photonic films. These hybrid devices exhibit polarized photoluminescence, broad UV absorption, and fast, electrically tunable light modulation.
