Cerebral vascular insufficiency due to occlusive lesions regarded as inaccessible is a common problem. The degree of cerebral dysfunction associated with such lesions is dependent in part on the amount of collateral circulation present. By anastomosing the superficial temporal artery to a branch of the middle cerebral artery an increase in collateral ...

Carotid Stenosis: to Revascularize, or Not to Revascularize: That is the Question [PDF]
# {#article-title-2} In their editorial, Drs. Marquardt and Barnett1 contend that because the CREST trial2 grouped symptomatic and asymptomatic patients together, the trial denied information about the benefit of endarterectomy (CEA) and stenting (CAS) in these separate conditions. We respectfully disagree. In CREST, 2 a …

Guidelines on myocardial revascularization [PDF]
Guidelines and Expert Consensus Documents summarize and evaluate all available evidence with the aim of assisting physicians in selecting the best management strategy for an individual patient suffering from a given condition, taking into account the impact on outcome and the risk benefit ratio of diagnostic or therapeutic means. Guidelines are no

Revascularization or amputation/1 [PDF]
The factors which determine the choice, revascularization or amputation of an ischaemic leg are very numerous, variable and sometimes also related. They are concerned with the extent and course of the gangrene, the general condition of the patient and the risk of operation, the technical operability in terms of arterial reconstruction, the skill and ...

To revascularize or not to revascularize: a dilemma in heart failure [PDF]
In developed nations, the leading cause of heart failure is coronary artery disease.[1][1] Established treatment options for ischemic heart failure include medical therapy, revascularization and cardiac transplantation.

Transmyocardial Laser Revascularization [PDF]
It has been almost a decade since transmyocardial laser revascularization (TMR) was approved for clinical use in the United States. The safety of TMR was demonstrated initially with nonrandomized studies in which TMR was used as the only treatment for patients with severe angina.

The Roles of AMPK in Revascularization [PDF]
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the most common and serious illness in the world and has been researched for many years. However, there are still no real effective ways to prevent and save patients with this disease. When patients present with myocardial infarction, the most important step is to recover ischemic prefusion, which usually is accomplished

MYOCARDIAL REVASCULARIZATION [PDF]
Atherosclerotic coronary artery disease causes more morbidity, mortality and loss of economic capacity than any other group of diseases. The modalities of revascularization of the myocardium have undergone rapid advances with emphasis shifting alternately from medical methods to surgical.

Randomized preclinical study of machine perfusion in vascularized composite allografts
This study was designed to identify the optimum machine perfusion parameters for preservation of limbs before transplantation, and determine whether this was better than cold storage. Normothermic machine perfusion at a pressure of 70 mmHg (NMP‐70) provided superior preservation to cold storage after transplantation.

A Predictable Propensity : Secondary Revascularization is Associated With Further Revascularization [PDF]
The epidemiologic burden of peripheral artery disease (PAD) is remarkable with prevalence ranging from 3% to 10%, rising to 15% to 20% in patients over 70 years.[1][1]–[4][2] Symptomatic PAD with intermittent claudication has a prevalence of up to 60% in patients over 60 years of age and ...
