Cerebral vascular insufficiency due to occlusive lesions regarded as inaccessible is a common problem. The degree of cerebral dysfunction associated with such lesions is dependent in part on the amount of collateral circulation present. By anastomosing the superficial temporal artery to a branch of the middle cerebral artery an increase in collateral ...

Penile revascularization surgery to correct penile vascular insufficiency has undergone several modifications since its introduction. Further improvement in the surgical success rate will be achieved with improved understanding of erectile physiology, diagnostic methodology, and both microsurgical and radiological techniques.

A 41-year-old man suffered from an incompletely avulsed right eyebrow and forehead after a windshield injury in a traffic accident. Microsurgical techniques were used to revascularize the avulsed tissue of the right eyebrow and forehead with anastomosis of one branch of the frontal branch of the right superficial temporal artery.

Advances in Revascularization for Peripheral Artery Disease: Revascularization in PAD
Circulation Research, 2021Effective revascularization of the patient with peripheral artery disease is about more than the procedure. The approach to the patient with symptom-limiting intermittent claudication or limb-threatening ischemia begins with understanding the population at risk and variation in clinical presentation.

Abstract A review of the development and current methods of surgical revascularization of the cerebral circulation is presented. In addition to the conventional superficial temporal artery to middle cerebral artery (STA-MCA) bypass, the techniques of interposition vein grafting and vertebrobasilar revascularization are discussed.
