TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

The Biais-Martimort-Rochet equilibrium with direct mechanisms [PDF]
In this note we show that the equilibrium characterized by Biais, Martimort and Rochet (Econometrica, 2000) could have been characterized by direct mechanisms even if the Revelation Principle does not apply in their setting. The use of more sophisticated

A note on revelation principle from an energy perspective [PDF]
The revelation principle has been known in the economics society for decades. In this paper, I will investigate it from an energy perspective, i.e., considering the energy consumed by agents and the designer in participating a mechanism. The main result is that when the strategies of agents are actions rather than messages, an additional energy ...

Comprehensive cancer centre (CCCs) and CCCs of Excellence (CCCoE) integration in healthcare. Through outreach to surrounding community hospitals, CCCs enable wider access to top‐clinical cancer treatments and care, thereby facilitating the swift enrolment of patients into data‐rich clinical trials (PI‐initiated trials testing new concepts, drug ...

First principles study of Sc, Ti and V doped Na$_n$(n =4, 5, 6) clusters: Enhanced magnetic moments [PDF]
Theoretical studies on the geometry, electronic structure and spin multiplicity of Sc, Ti and V doped Na$_n$ (n = 4, 5, 6) clusters have been carried out within a gradient corrected density functional approach. Two complementary approaches including all-electron calculations on free clusters, and supercell calculations using planewave pseudopotential ...

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

Al-Mufid on the Scope of Inerrancy of the Prophets and Its Inconsistency with Their Knowledge [PDF]
Along with other Islamic theologians and philosophers, al-Shaykh al-Mufid believes in the inerrancy of prophets as far as it is related to the claim of prophethood, as well as reception and presentation of revelation and contends that they cannot commit ...
