The SDSS-V Black Hole Mapper Reverberation Mapping Project: Multiline Dynamical Modeling of a Highly Variable Active Galactic Nucleus with Decade-long Light Curves [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysical Journal
We present dynamical modeling of the broad-line region (BLR) of the highly variable active galactic nucleus (AGN) SDSS J141041.25+531849.0 (z = 0.359) using photometric and spectroscopic monitoring data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS ...

Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

Association Between Motor Pathway Damage and Motor Deficit in Upper and Lower Limb in People With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Corticospinal tract damage is common in people with MS, but the degree of clinical symptoms varies. We hypothesize that corticospinal tract lesions are more extensive and severe in people with MS with motor impairments in both upper and lower limbs.

Sex‐Stratified Association of Regional Dopamine Transporter Binding With Disease Progression in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To clarify the clinical relevance of dopamine transporter single‐photon emission computed tomography (DAT‐SPECT) abnormalities in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), with a prespecified focus on sex‐stratified associations with disease progression and short‐term prognosis.

Consistency between X-ray and UV–optical reverberation measurements in NGC 5548

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. The hard X-ray-emitting hot corona is a key component of active galaxies. Constraints on the hot corona height can be derived from reverberation studies in both the X-ray and optical bands. Aims.

Meeting Summary: A 2017 View of Active Galactic Nuclei

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2018
The topics covered in this summary review reflect the major areas discussed in the Padova meeting, in April 2017. They are divided into general categories: those areas where large progress has been made leading to a real new understanding (what we are ...

Studying the outskirts of reverberation mapped AGNs [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2016
AbstractAbout 100 AGNs have their black hole mass measured directly using the reverberation mapping technique over the past few decades. By now we have high enough numbers to explore unique subsamples within these objects and to study phenomena across variety of AGNs.

Neurochemical Endpoints to Inform Early‐Stage Trials of Spinocerebellar Ataxia 2 and 3 in a Multisite Setting

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neurochemical levels measured by brain MR spectroscopy (MRS) have been proposed as endpoints for clinical trials in early‐stage spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) trials. We tested their trial‐readiness by quantifying neurochemicals in three affected brain regions in early‐stage cohorts of SCA2 and SCA3, examining their reproducibility in ...

SPACE TELESCOPE AND OPTICAL REVERBERATION MAPPING PROJECT. II.SWIFTANDHSTREVERBERATION MAPPING OF THE ACCRETION DISK OF NGC 5548 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2015
Recent intensive Swift monitoring of the Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 5548 yielded 282 usable epochs over 125 days across six UV/optical bands and the X-rays. This is the densest extended AGN UV/optical continuum sampling ever obtained, with a mean sampling rate <0.5 day. Approximately daily HST UV sampling was also obtained.
