A Hydrophone Perturbation Method for Reverberation Suppression
Journal of Information and Computational Science, 2014Under the shallow sea condition, bottom reverberation is the main background noise. Especially the bottom and the buried targets echo are weak and signal-to-reverberation ratio is very low. So it is an important problem that how to improve the signal-to-reverberation ratio. This paper presents a method which is Perturbation Iteration Method. The method

Reverberation characterization and suppression by means of principal components
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994A method of reverberation suppression and characterization, called the principal components inverse (PCI) method, has been used to separate strong components of the reverberation from the observed data of an active sonar reverberation experiment. The number of principal reverberation components needed to represent these strong components seldom exceeds

Broadband DOA Estimation by Beamforming with Suppression of Reverberation
2008 Congress on Image and Signal Processing, 2008Acoustic signal processing in shallow water environments is a challenging problem because of the presence of reverberation. Based on some models of reverberation, data from sensors array is pretreated to suppress reverberation. Considering reverberation as a sum of echoes of transmitted signal, the principal component inverse (PCI) algorithm is ...

Single-Microphone Early and Late Reverberation Suppression in Noisy Speech
IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, 2013This paper presents a single-microphone approach to the enhancement of noisy reverberant speech via inverse filtering and spectral processing. An efficient algorithm is used to blindly estimate the inverse filter of the Room Impulse Response (RIR). This filter is used to attenuate the early reverberation.

Space-time processing for suppression of bottom reverberation
Conference Record of The Twenty-Ninth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2002The major problem for sonars operating in shallow water is the detection of low Doppler targets in the presence of severe bottom reverberation. For a modern sonar with an azimuthally omni-directional transmitter; the Doppler of bottom reverberation is proportional to /spl nu/cos /spl theta/ where /spl nu/ is the speed of the sonar platform and /spl ...

Noise and late-reverberation suppression in time-varying acoustical environments
2010 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2010We consider single-channel blind late-reverberation suppression in noisy and time-varying acoustical environments. Existing estimators for the late reverberant spectral variance (LRSV) are derived assuming the room impulse responses (RIRs) to be time-invariant realizations of a stochastic process.

An Improved Method for Late-Reverberant Suppression Based on Statistical Model
Speech Communication, 2013Model-based late reverberant spectral variance (LRSV) estimator is considered as an effective approach for speech dereverberation, which can construct a simple expression for the LRSV according to the past spectral variance of the reverberant signal. In this paper, we develop a new LRSV estimator based on the time-varying room impulse responses (RIRs ...
