An Adaptive Tracking Method for Moving Target in Fluctuating Reverberation Environment
In environments with a low signal-to-reverberation ratio (SRR) characterized by fluctuations in clutter number and distribution, particle filter-based tracking methods may experience significant fluctuations in the posterior probability of existence ...

Optimal Waveform Design Using Frequency-Modulated Pulse Trains for Active Sonar
Frequency-modulated pulse trains can be applied in active sonar systems to improve the performance of conventional transmitted waveforms. Recently, two pulse trains have been widely researched as the transmitted waveforms for active sonars.

A forward speed effects study on jet noise from several suppressor nozzles in the NASA/Ames 40- by 80-foot wind tunnel [PDF]
A test program was conducted in a 40 by 80 foot wind tunnel to evaluate the effect of relative velocity on the jet noise signature of a conical ejector, auxiliary inlet ejector, 32 spokes and 104 tube nozzle with and without an acoustically treated ...

A model interference method for shallow water reverberation suppression [PDF]
A method of boundary reverberation reduction for shallow water ducts has been devised that makes use of a vertical array of sound sources. By controlling the waveforms of the sources, control over the phase and amplitudes of a selected set of modes can be made. This in turn allows formation of nulls in the field at specified range/depth pairs.

Titanium (Ti) and bismuth (Bi) are selected as alloying elements for the preparation of the Ti‐Bi binary alloy system. Biofilm formation is found to be inhibited by bismuth through the disruption of sulfur metabolism and redox homeostasis, as well as through the direct downregulation of biofilm‐associated proteins.

The Hydrodynamic Noise Suppression of a Scaled Submarine Model by Leading-Edge Serrations
High hydrodynamic noise is a threat to the survival of underwater vehicles. We investigated a noise suppression mechanism by putting leading-edge serrations on the sail hull of a scaled SUBOFF model, through numerical calculation and an experimental test.

This study presents printed image‐integrated smart windows that simultaneously control color and transmittance using electrochromic polymer‐dispersed liquid crystals (ECPDLCs). By optimizing the electrochromic LC composition and refining the drop‐on‐demand printing process, precise image integration and dynamic optical control are achieved.

Smart Theremin Based on Electromagnetic Metasurfaces for Fine Dual‐Hand Perception
The proposed Meta‐Theremin leverages a frequency‐spatial multiplexing metasurface to enable robust dual‐hand perception by shielding environmental noise and confining EM fields to interaction zones. Its physics‐informed neural network decouples hand‐specific echoes, enhancing accuracy.
