Impact of Background Noise Fluctuation and Reverberation on Response Time in a Speech Reception Task.

Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research, 2019
Purpose This study examines the effects of reverberation and noise fluctuation on the response time (RT) to the auditory stimuli in a speech reception task.

Reverberation Time Measurements in Reverberant Spaces

2008
The goal of this paper is to examine the reverberation time measurements made in small and large reverberant spaces using different measurement methods, namely, the integrated impulse response measured with pink noise, exponential sweep and MLS and the method of recording the response of the room to an impulsive source, e.g.

Reverberation Time Formulae Reconsidered

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972
The widely used reverberation time formula due to Eyring was derived on the assumption of step-wise drops in the energy level of a diffuse sound field. The argument, besides being difficult to follow, was not justified from the statistical notion of a diffuse field.

Time reversal of interface reverberation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2004
Bottom reverberation can be used as a probe-source of opportunity to construct a time-reversal focus that scans along a rough interface. We present results from a tank experiment at ultrasonic frequencies in which reverberation from a sandy bottom was collected on a 64-element source/receiver array.

Holographic measurement of reverberation time

Applied Acoustics, 1979
Abstract A system employing the radio frequency holographic method for the measurement of the reverberation time of an acoustic chamber is proposed. This system has the advantage of supplying visible information on the diminishing intensity of the acoustic wave.

Measurement of Reverberation Time

American Journal of Physics, 1965
A simple experiment to measure the reverberation time of a room is described. The relevant theory is outlined, and typical results are given. The experiment is designed for inclusion in a course of practical work for first-year university students in physics.

Time reversal acoustics applied to rooms of various reverberation times.

Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2018
Time Reversal (TR) is a technique that may be used to focus an acoustic signal at a particular point in space. While many variables contribute to the quality of TR focusing of sound in a particular room, the most important have been shown to be the ...

Automatic Reverberation Time Recorder

IETE Journal of Research, 1956
AbstractThe method of measurement of reverberation time by tracing decay curves is tedious though accurate. Occasions frequently arise when the need for a quick determination of reverberation time vs. frequency curve is felt. An equipment constructed in the Research Department, All India Radio, which can plot the reverberation time vs.

Fractional Fourier transform‐based detection and delay time estimation of moving target in strong reverberation environment

, 2017
In ocean environments, reverberation is an inevitable interference for active sonar system. The reverberation has many characteristics quite similar to target echo, thus resulting in high false probability during active sonar detection.

Predicting reverberation times in a simulated classroom

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2000
By varying the sound-absorption treatments in a simulated classroom, experimental results were compared with analytical and computer predictions of reverberation time. Analytical predictions were made with different absorption exponents, which are the result of different weighting procedures involving room surface areas and the sound-absorption ...
