Disturbed Sampling Using Reverse Circulation

Geological Society, London, Engineering Geology Special Publications, 1986
Abstract The exploration of unconsolidated and semi-consolidated strata is generally undertaken using shell and auger and continuous flight augering techniques. These methods have serious limitations, especially when accurate sampling is required below the water table.

Circulating reverse triiodothyronine (rT3) in the dog

Life Sciences, 1977
Abstract Plasma reverse triiodothyronine (rT 3 ) concentration was measured by radio immunoassay (RIA) in a group of 15 dogs. The mean rT 3 concentration was 187 ng/100 ml which was 3 times higher than radioimmunoassayable triiodothyronine (T 3 ) concentration.

Circulating reverse triiodothyronine in humans during exercise

European Journal of Applied Physiology and Occupational Physiology, 1981
Circulating thyroxine (T4), triiodothyronine (T3) and reverse triiodothyronine (rT3) as well as blood lactate and glucose concentrations were measured in a group of 12 trained volunteer subjects prior to and after swimming 0.18 or 0.9 km, to determine if increase in metabolic activity was accompanied by diversion of T4 monodeiodination from the active (

Three-layered circulation in reverse estuaries

Continental Shelf Research, 1996
Abstract Driven by an upper-layer density deficit and lower-layer density surplus from an adjacent sea, circulation in an estuarine embayment may be three-layered, with top and bottom inflows separated by a mid-layer outflow. The characteristics of this type of circulation as functions of density forcing, background stratification and lateral depth ...

Flow reversal in natural circulation systems

Applied Thermal Engineering, 2003
Boiling flow in natural circulation systems can be susceptible to thermohydrodynamic instabilities which can be the cause of mechanical damage. This paper presents an analysis of a circulation system where two unequal heated riser circuits are connected to a common downcomer. It can be shown that for such systems a critical heat absorption ratio exists

Reverse circulation bit fluid field calculation

2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing, 2009
Air drive reverse circulation bit interior fluid field analysis has relied on experiments for a long time. With the development of the computer, numerical simulation and emulation software brought many advantages contrasting the experiment. However, due to the complexity of the interior fluid field, few people have done the resolution calculation for ...

Reverse-Circulation Drilling

1964
Reverse-circulation drilling is designed specifically for the construction of production water wells, but is readily adaptable to soil exploration uses, foundation projects, and underwater drilling. The method is an adaptation of the dredge to vertical holes, which permits construction of moderate to large diameter holes of any depth to several hundred

Circulating microRNAs Associated With Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome

Annals of Neurology, 2020
ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to investigate the significance of circulating micro RNAs (miRNAs) in the pathogenesis of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS).MethodsWe prospectively recruited 3 independent cohorts of patients with RCVS and age‐matched and sex‐matched controls in a single medical center. Next‐generation small RNA

The Seasonal Reversal of the Stratospheric Circulation

Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1975
Abstract The mean and individual seasonal reversal progressions are described for each of the 11 years of available rocket observations from 80°N to 80°S, and from 20 to 65 km. Isochrone sections were based on the time sections of the preceding paper and on frequencies of east-west wind data.

Reversible Cessation of Blood Circulation in Deep Hypothermia

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1958
In rats at body temperatures below 15℃, the arterial pressure reflected immediately the temperature of the heart.
