Ring-Opening Reaction of 1-Phospha-2-Azanorbornenes via P-N Bond Cleavage and Reversibility Studies

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
The reactive P-N bond in 1-phospha-2-azanorbornenes is readily cleaved by simple alcohols to afford P-chiral 2,3-dihydrophosphole derivatives as a racemic mixture.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

From Reversible Semantics to Reversible Debugging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents a line of research in reversible computing for concurrent systems. This line of research started in 2004 with the definition of the first reversible extensions for concurrent process calculi such as CCS, and is currently heading to the production of practical reversible debuggers for concurrent languages such as Erlang.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Investigation of Reversibility of Asphaltene Precipitation and Deposition for an Iranian Crude Oil [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2006
In this work, the precipitation and re-dissolution of asphaltenes were studied for an Iranian relatively heavy crude oil. A series of experiments were designed and carried out to quantitatively examine the reversibility of asphaltenes precipitation upon ...

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Substitution-Induced Mechanistic Switching in SNAr-Warheads for Cysteine Proteases

open access: yesMolecules
The aim of this study was to investigate the transition from non-covalent reversible over covalent reversible to covalent irreversible inhibition of cysteine proteases by making delicate structural changes to the warhead scaffold. To this end, dipeptidic

Reversible Computation vs. Reversibility in Petri Nets [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Computer Programming, 2016
Abstract Petri nets are a general formal model of concurrent systems which supports both action-based and state-based modelling and reasoning. One of important behavioural properties investigated in the context of Petri nets has been reversibility, understood as the possibility of returning to the initial marking from any reachable net marking.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.
