Experimental Investigation on a Reversible Heat Pump for a Passenger Car [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper summarizes the first results of a research project dealing with the development of a reversible heat pump for a passenger car. Heat pump systems appear to be a more efficient alternative to electrical resistance heaters for the purpose of ...

Reversible dementia in elderly: Really uncommon?

open access: yesJournal of Geriatric Mental Health, 2015
There has been a steady rise in the prevalence of dementia all over the world. Our understanding of the illness, as well as its etiopathology, has also improved. Dementias due to degenerative and vascular pathology form the most common types of dementias

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Towards a taxonomy for reversible computation approaches

open access: yes, 2023
Reversible computation is a paradigm allowing computation to proceed not only in the usual, forward direction, but also backwards. Reversible computation has been studied in a variety of models, including sequential and concurrent programming languages ...

Iterative Construction of Reversible Variable-Length Codes and Variable-Length Error-Correcting Codes

open access: yes, 2004
We propose a generic algorithm for the construction of efficient reversible variable-length codes (RVLCs) and variable-length error-correcting (VLEC) codes, which optimizes the codeword length distribution.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Lung Toxicity Occurring During Enfortumab Vedotin Treatment: From a Priming Case Report to a Retrospective Analysis

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Background/Objectives: Enfortumab vedotin (EV) is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that combines monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE), a potent cytotoxic agent, with a monoclonal antibody targeting Nectin-4. It has emerged as a promising therapy for metastatic
