Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) are nanoscale digital logic constructs that use electrons in arrays of quantum dots to carry out binary operations. In this paper, a basic building block for QCA will be proposed.

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.

Kinetic Regimes of Hydrogen Absorption in Thin Films
Knowledge of the hydrogen incorporation mechanisms in thin layers in relation to the amount absorbed is essential to design coatings and devices compatible with hydrogen‐based technologies. A combination of simultaneous in situ methods gives detailed insight into the hydrogenation of a prototypical hydrogen absorber layer in a time‐dependent manner ...

Overdoping high temperature superconductors, such as YBa2Cu3O7‐δ (YBCO), is expected to maxime the critical current density by optimising the condensation energy for a given defect landscape, providing new thrust for the development of fusion enabling coated conductors. Here, precise oxygen control is achieved via an electrochemical method allowing for

Reversible Transitions in a Cellular Automata-Based Traffic Model with Driver Memory
Here, we develop a new cellular automata-based traffic model. In this model, individual vehicles cannot estimate global traffic flows but can only detect the vehicle ahead.

A novel thermos‐responsive hydroxypropyl cellulose/graphene oxide (HPC/GO) composite membrane is fabricated for reversible temperature‐gated ion transport in aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. Enabled by LCST‐driven structural transition, unimpeded ion diffusion at room temperature delivers high capacity, while elevated temperature suppresses transport; full ...
