Summary: We have analysed the thermionic current over a potential barrier between a hot and a cold metallic wire, in the absence of an externally applied electric field. Because of the quantum nature of the transmission probability and the temperature behaviour of the Fermi distribution function, under proper conditions the thermionic electric current ...

Current status of vasectomy reversal
Nature Reviews Urology, 2013Vasectomy reversal is the most common microsurgical intervention for the treatment of male infertility. Originally introduced in 1977, microsurgical vasectomy reversal has become highly sophisticated and is a minimally invasive, highly efficient and cost-effective treatment option for men with a desire to have children after vasectomy.

Current techniques in microsurgical reversal surgery
Current Urology Reports, 2005Microsurgical reversal surgery for the treatment of vasal and epididymal obstruction represents one of the most challenging procedures in urology. An awareness of the latest information surrounding these procedures is essential to success. This article discusses current techniques in preparation, anastomosis, and investigational methods.

Multiple current reversal in Brownian ratchets
Physical Review E, 2001We address the problem of stationary transport of overdamped Brownian particles in a one-dimensional spatially periodic potential composed of N hills within one period. We show that in a system driven by both thermal equilibrium fluctuations and symmetric dichotomic fluctuations, a proper manipulation of the barrier heights and slopes of the potential ...

Chronopotentiometry with current reversal effect of unequal forward and reverse current densities
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry (1959), 1963Abstract The theory of current reversal chronopotentiometry has been extended to take into account unequal forward and reverse current densities. Equations have been derived for the potential-time dependence on the current density ratio for reversible and irreversible re-oxidations.

Magnetic diffusion and current profiles during current reversal
Journal of Plasma Physics, 1981Computer studies are performed on the temporal changes of magnetic flux surfaces and current density profiles in a tokamak (of 25 cm minor radius) undergoing current reversal. The flux on the plasma boundary is forced to vary in time so as to model a total current reversal from positive to negative in about 5 ms.

Reverse shoulder arthroplasty current concepts
Orthopaedics and Trauma, 2013The reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) was introduced in 1987 for cuff tear arthropathy. Over time the prostheses have evolved and its indications have increased. RSA is a semi-constrained reverse ball and socket prosthesis with several key biomechanical advantages, including a fixed centre of rotation which allows the deltoid to function.
