Side‐by‐side long‐term performance assessment of GFRP‐ and steel‐reinforced concrete bridge decks

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract The corrosion‐induced deterioration of steel‐reinforced bridge decks is a service life concern, especially in cold regions, where the use of deicing chemicals is common. To address this issue, glass fiber‐reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforcement has received growing attention, owing to the GFRP's resistance to conventional corrosion.

Tracing Adaptive Transfer Across Genres and Media: GenAI‐Supported ESL Learners' Digital Multimodal Composing and Traditional Writing Practices

open access: yesTESOL Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract Drawing on the adaptive transfer and the genre knowledge model as a conceptual framework, this research explores how English as a second language (ESL) learners transferred knowledge across genres (narration and argumentation) and media (print‐based writing and video) with the assistance of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) platforms ...

Impact of Environmental Microparticles on Insect Olfaction

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Terrestrial insects underpin key ecosystem services, including pollination, herbivory regulation, decomposition, nutrient cycling, and disease control. These functions depend on chemical communication that guides insects to food, mates, hosts, shelters, and oviposition sites while helping them avoid threats.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.
