Abstract Background The Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) recommends a two‐step diagnostic process consisting of initial screening for malnutrition risk followed by diagnostic assessment. We evaluated the association between GLIM‐defined malnutrition identified using six alternative first‐step screening tools and Functional ...

Using synchrotron‐based multiscale imaging, generative modeling algorithms, and computational mechanics models, our study reveals a scale‐dependent transition in bone mechanics. The results of the power‐scaling law illustrate a transition from density‐controlled stiffness at the trabecular scale to connectivity‐controlled, porosity‐sensitive mechanics ...

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.
