Reflections on research ethics in a public health emergency: Experiences of Brazilian women affected by Zika
Developing World Bioethics, Volume 23, Issue 2, Page 138-146, June 2023., 2023 Abstract
In Brazil, the epicenter of the Zika crisis, brown, black, and indigenous poor women living in municipalities with scarce resources were disproportionally affected. The gendered consequences of the epidemic exposed how intersectional lenses are central to understand the impact of public health emergencies in the lives of women and girls.Ilana Ambrogi, Luciana Brito, Sergio Rego +2 morewiley +1 more sourceRoadkill patterns in Latin American birds and mammals
Global Ecology and Biogeography, Volume 31, Issue 9, Page 1756-1783, September 2022., 2022 Abstract Aim
Roads are a major threat for wildlife, degrading habitat and causing mortality via wildlife–vehicle collisions. In Latin America, the conjunction of high biodiversity and a rapidly expanding road network is reason for concern. We introduce an approach that combines species traits and habitat preferences to describe vulnerability and map ...Pablo Medrano‐Vizcaíno, Clara Grilo, Fernando Antônio Silva Pinto, William Douglas Carvalho, Ramiro Dário Melinski, Eduardo D. Review of European, Comparative &International Environmental Law, Volume 30, Issue 2, Page 207-219, July 2021., 2021 Abstract
Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) was introduced by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as a mechanism to reverse the loss of forests and carbon stocks in developing countries. REDD+ operates on the basis of performance‐based payments.Beatriz Garcia, Lawrence Rimmer, Leticia Canal Vieira, Brendan Mackey +3 morewiley +1 more sourceOne Stop Shops for Public Services: Evidence from Citizen Service Centers in Brazil

The goal of implementing such One Stop Shops for public services is to solve problems with a malfunctioning government bureaucracy for frontline service delivery.Anders Fredrikssonwiley +1 more sourceBioTIME: A database of biodiversity time series for the Anthropocene
Global Ecology and Biogeography, Volume 27, Issue 7, Page 760-786, July 2018., 2018 Abstract Motivation
The BioTIME database contains raw data on species identities and abundances in ecological assemblages through time. These data enable users to calculate temporal trends in biodiversity within and amongst assemblages using a broad range of metrics.Maria Dornelas, Laura H. Antão, Faye Moyes, Amanda E. Bates, Anne E.
