What is the Reynolds Number of the Solar Wind?
The Reynolds number, Re , is an important quantity for describing a turbulent flow. It tells us about the bandwidth over which energy can cascade from large scales to smaller ones, prior to the onset of dissipation.

A critical comparison of several low Reynolds number k-epsilon turbulence models for flow over a backward facing step [PDF]
Turbulent backward-facing step flow was examined using four low turbulent Reynolds number k-epsilon models and one standard high Reynolds number technique. A tunnel configuration of 1:9 (step height: exit tunnel height) was used.

Multimodal Locomotion of Soft Robots
This review comprehensively surveys recent advances in multimodal locomotion within soft robotics. Typical locomotion modes are summarized and categorized. Furthermore, the underlying mechanisms enabling multimodal locomotion are discussed and classified into three primary categories: active control‐based, reconfiguration‐based, and environment ...

Mimicking Life: Autonomous Oscillating Artificial Cilia Driven by Chemical Power
The synthesis and motion analysis of chemically actuated, individually autonomous artificial cilia are presented. Driven by an internal chemical reaction, the self‐driven individual cilia require no external stimuli. They undergo periodic oscillatory motion with a 3D beat pattern and exhibit chemotactic shifts, reminiscent of biological systems.

Control of Reynolds number in a high speed wind tunnel [PDF]
A conceptual control model for the Reynolds number test based on isentropic relations was established for the supersonic wind tunnel. Comparison of the system response of the model simulation and the actual wind tunnel test data was made to design the ...

Reynolds number influences in aeronautics [PDF]
Reynolds number, a measure of the ratio of inertia to viscous forces, is a fundamental similarity parameter for fluid flows and therefore, would be expected to have a major influence in aerodynamics and aeronautics.

ABSTRACT Costello syndrome (CS) is a rare dominant HRAS RASopathy characterized by curly hair, cardiac abnormalities, craniofacial anomalies, and developmental delay. HRAS codon 58, 59, and 60 variants are associated with milder phenotypes. We describe a three‐generation family with a previously unreported heterozygous HRAS variant c.175G>A (p.Ala59Thr)

The Cost of the National Disability Insurance Scheme: Australia's Print‐Media Discourse
ABSTRACT This paper examines the way that Australian newspapers have framed the cost of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Introduced in 2013, the NDIS represented a major change in Australia's disability support policy, moving for the first time to a nationwide universal insurance model.

Aerodynamics of Harmonically Oscillating Aerofoil at Low Reynolds Number
Two-dimensional flows over harmonically oscillating symmetrical aerofoil at reduced frequency of 0.1 were investigated for a Reynolds number of 135,000, with focus on the unsteady aerodynamic forces, pressure and vortex dynamics at post-stall angles of ...
