Autogenous self‐healing of concrete: Experimental design and test methodsA review

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Concrete exhibits an intrinsic ability to heal cracks, defined as “autogenous self‐healing.” However, despite code restrictions, autogenous self‐healing of concrete shows limited effectiveness in practice. This indicates the need for further research to provide engineers with reliable design rules.

Leveraging Resource Management and Duality Theories to Strengthen Circular Economy Practices in the Waste‐to‐Energy Industry

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the immediate actions required to address environmental issues posed by waste generation and the growing interest in the circular economy, anaerobic digestion (AD) offers a promising solution. As a major component of waste‐to‐energy, AD plays a dual role by processing waste and generating renewable energy at the same time, thus ...

Numerical Investigation of Compressive Stress and Wettability Effects on Fluid Transport in Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell Porous Layers

open access: yesEnergy Technology, Volume 10, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
A numerical framework is presented highlighting effects of compressive stress on fluid transport across multiple porous layers in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. Liquid transport characteristics under various compressive conditions are mainly influenced by pore‐scale capillary pressure.

Harnessing cell aggregates for enhanced adeno‐associated virus manufacturing: Cultivation strategies and scale‐up considerations

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Abstract The possibility to produce recombinant adeno‐associated virus (rAAV) by adherent HEK293T cells was studied in a stirred tank bioreactor (STR) culture of cell aggregates. A proof‐of‐concept of rAAV production was successfully demonstrated in a process where single cells were first expanded, then cell aggregates were formed by dilution into a ...
