Scattering of low-Reynolds-number swimmers [PDF]
We describe the consequences of time reversal invariance of the Stokes' equations for the hydrodynamic scattering of two low Reynolds number swimmers. For swimmers that are related to each other by a time reversal transformation this leads to the striking result that the angle between the two swimmers is preserved by the scattering.

Aerodynamic characteristics of low Reynolds number airfoils
Assessment of airfoil aerodynamic characteristics is essential part of any optimal airfoil design procedure. This paper illustrates rapid and efficient method for determination of aerodynamic characteristics of an airfoil, which is based on viscous ...

Stochastic low Reynolds number swimmers [PDF]
As technological advances allow us to fabricate smaller autonomous self-propelled devices, it is clear that at some point directed propulsion could not come from pre-specified deterministic periodic deformation of the swimmer's body and we need to develop strategies to extract a net directed motion from a series of random transitions in the ...

Hydrothermal performance improvement of an inserted double pipe heat exchanger with Ionanofluid
To meet the growing energy demand, double pipe heat exchangers (DPHEX), which are used in a variety of energy and thermal engineering applications, require improved heat transfer performance.

Reynolds number calculation and applications for curved wall jets [PDF]
The current paper refers to the preliminary estimation of the Reynolds number for curved wall jets. This, in turn, can be a useful tool for controlling the boundary layer mesh size near a generic curved wall which is wetted by a thin, attached jet.

What is the Reynolds Number of the Reynolds' Layer? [PDF]
Several authors have now suggested that some interstellar clouds above the plane of the Galaxy are interacting with the Reynolds' layer, the warm ionized gas extending well above (H~910 pc) the Galactic plane (Reynolds 1993). Characterizing the interaction between these clouds and their surroundings should be useful in understanding one source of ...

Low Reynolds Number Rotor Blade Aerodynamic Analysis
Maintaining a steady hover flight in a rotorcraft usually requires high energy input. The aim of the paper is to prove that it is possible to vastly reduce energy use in a rotorcraft by reducing the disc loading.

Noisy swimming at low Reynolds numbers [PDF]
Small organisms (e.g., bacteria) and artificial microswimmers move due to a combination of active swimming and passive Brownian motion. Considering a simplified linear three-sphere swimmer, we study how the swimmer size regulates the interplay between self-driven and diffusive behavior at low Reynolds number.

Optimal Swimming at Low Reynolds Numbers [PDF]
Efficient swimming at low Reynolds numbers is a major concern of microbots. To compare the efficiencies of different swimmers we introduce the notion of ``swimming drag coefficient'' which allows for the ranking of swimmers. We find the optimal swimmer within a certain class of two dimensional swimmers using conformal mappings techniques.
