Mixed RF and Hybrid RF/FSO Relaying
2015 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2015Abstract-In this paper, we consider a mixed RF and hybrid RF/FSO system where several mobile users transmit their data over an RF link to a relay node (e.g. a small cell base station) and the relay forwards the information to a destination (e.g. a macro cell base station) over a hybrid RF/FSO backhaul link. The relay and the destination employ multiple

Optimizing RF Output for Cooled RF Ablation
Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, 2004Cooled RF ablation catheters increase lesion size and facilitate ablation compared to standard RF ablation catheters. Cooling the ablation electrode increases the disparity between tissue temperature and electrode temperature, making use of temperature for guiding power application during ablation of less certain value.

ACM SIGOPS Operating Systems Review, 2011
Due to the increasing number of applications (and their data) being placed on mobile devices, access to dependable storage is becoming a key issue in mobile system design -- and cloud storage is becoming an attractive solution. However, this introduces a number of new issues related to unpredictable wireless network connectivity and data privacy over ...

RF/Microwave processing in RF systems
2016 Progress in Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS), 2016Recent wireless communication systems have been developed with various and complicated additional functions. Whereas conventional RF/Microwave systems have done the original functions of frequency up/down conversions, spectral power selection/limitation, and noise control, they are required for more agile operations such as antenna beam steering ...

The addition of contrast-enhanced ultrasound to monitor the extent of interstitial ablation has simplified this procedure. Newer agents such as SonoVue used with microbubble-specific software (CPS) allow continuous real-time scanning at low MIs so that, if residual perfused tumour is found, complete evaluation of the extent of tissue ablation can be ...

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 1992
AbstractWe have investigated the properties of a recursive process in which the output signal from a given RF excitation pulse may be used as the input (excitation) pulse of a subsequent iteration. This recursive excitation technique increases contrast and improves feature segmentation for the purpose of motion tracking.

RF-Mehndi: A Fingertip Profiled RF Identifier
IEEE INFOCOM 2019 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications, 2019This paper presents RF-Mehndi, a passive commercial RFID tag array formed identifier. The key RF-Mehndi novelty is that when the user’s fingertip touching on the tag array surface during the communication, the backscattered signals by the tag array become user-dependent and unique.

RF bandpass tunable filter using RF MEMS
2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering, 2008A bandpass tunable RF filter is proposed by using Radio Frequency (RF) Microelectro Mechanical Systems (MEMS). The tenability is obtained by using capacitive MEMS switches. The performance of the filter depends on geometry and location and types of the MEMS switches. The paper described the optimization procedure to design a bandpass filter that can be
