RF sounding

Proceedings of the 8th ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems, 2010
The demo we propose represents a first step toward RF Sounding [1]. Such a project is an open space installation which comprises both artistic and technological innovations; its aim is to provide the user, while entering a specifically defined area, with awareness of radio frequency signals characterizing the cellular networks band.

Mixed RF and Hybrid RF/FSO Relaying

2015 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2015
Abstract-In this paper, we consider a mixed RF and hybrid RF/FSO system where several mobile users transmit their data over an RF link to a relay node (e.g. a small cell base station) and the relay forwards the information to a destination (e.g. a macro cell base station) over a hybrid RF/FSO backhaul link. The relay and the destination employ multiple

RF-Mehndi: A Fingertip Profiled RF Identifier

IEEE INFOCOM 2019 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications, 2019
This paper presents RF-Mehndi, a passive commercial RFID tag array formed identifier. The key RF-Mehndi novelty is that when the user’s fingertip touching on the tag array surface during the communication, the backscattered signals by the tag array become user-dependent and unique.

Optimizing RF Output for Cooled RF Ablation

Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, 2004
Cooled RF ablation catheters increase lesion size and facilitate ablation compared to standard RF ablation catheters. Cooling the ablation electrode increases the disparity between tissue temperature and electrode temperature, making use of temperature for guiding power application during ablation of less certain value.

RF/Microwave processing in RF systems

2016 Progress in Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS), 2016
Recent wireless communication systems have been developed with various and complicated additional functions. Whereas conventional RF/Microwave systems have done the original functions of frequency up/down conversions, spectral power selection/limitation, and noise control, they are required for more agile operations such as antenna beam steering ...

Digital RF

9th EUROMICRO Conference on Digital System Design (DSD'06), 2006
Something very special happened at the turn of the last century. It didn’t get nearly as much news coverage as the millennium bug, but its impact will be experienced by most people on earth. In fact, it was a low key phenomenon that received attention only from few technologists. This phenomenon was the ability to reliably scale a CMOS transistor below

Programmable RF System for RF System-on-Chip

2010
This paper proposes a new automatic programmable radio frequency (RF) system for a System-on-Chip (SoC) transceiver. We built a 5-GHz low noise amplifier (LNA) with an on-chip programmable RF system using 0.18-(m SiGe technology. This system is extremely useful for today’s RF IC devices in a complete RF transceiver environment.

Teaching RF to Sense without RF Training Measurements

Proceedings of the ACM on Interactive, Mobile, Wearable and Ubiquitous Technologies, 2020
In this paper, we propose a novel, generalizable, and scalable idea that eliminates the need for collecting Radio Frequency (RF) measurements, when training RF sensing systems for human-motion-related activities. Existing learning-based RF sensing systems require collecting massive RF training data, which depends heavily on the particular sensing setup/
