Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

TFET-Based Power Management Circuit for RF Energy Harvesting

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2017
This paper proposes a Tunnel FET (TFET)-based power management circuit (PMC) for ultra-low power RF energy harvesting applications. In contrast with conventional thermionic devices, the band-to-band tunneling mechanism of TFETs allows a better switching ...

Optimal Cooperative Power Allocation for Energy Harvesting Enabled Relay Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we present a new power allocation scheme for a decode-and-forward (DF) relaying-enhanced cooperative wireless system. While both source and relay nodes may have limited traditional brown power supply or fixed green energy storage, the ...

A Hydrodynamic Bioreactor for High‐Yield Production of Extracellular Vesicles from Stem Cell Spheroids with Defined Cargo Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study harnesses hydrodynamic flows to generate, confine and stimulate stem cell spheroids, enabling the large‐scale production of extracellular vesicles (EVs). This innovative method not only streamlines spheroid formation and subsequent EV release in a single, integrated process, but also ensures the generation of EVs with enhanced biological ...

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.
